One of the most respected people in the local music industry, DJ Carl Alley (a.k.a. The Soul Controller) is humble to a fault, never putting himself above other DJ's, just offering something different. His name is synonymous with some of Sydney's most successful and longest running club nights such as Sydney's - Star City Casino's Cave, “Fat” Thursdays @ Gas, Deja Vu, “Mocha” and “XO” @ Hunter Bar as well as guest spots throughout Australia's other leading urban nightclub in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Newcastle, Wollongong and Canberra. Blessed with a lustrous career that includes 2000 Sydney Olympic and Paralympic DJ for the Athletes village, After parties such as Usher, Ja Rule/Ashanti, 112 and various other celebrities, Co-hosting his own community radio show “Flava in Ya Ear” for five years and was one of the first Mixmaster on The Edge 96.1FM. However, the main place where Carl Alley truly feels at home is in the DJ booth. The epitome of versatility, his sets are legendary for their seamless ability to bounce from R&B, Hip-Hop, Crunk, Reggaeton, Dance hall, Latin, and everything in-between. While other DJ's are left scratching their heads in amazement, Alley breaks new tracks, drops current hits, and brings back timeless classics, never skipping a beat and managing to keep the crowd going wild. In 2006 Alley put his unique stamp on the DJ mixtape market, releasing Soul Control, a new series of hip-hop and R&B mix Cd's through Hardwax (Central Station) featuring a mix of new, old and local Australian talent. The success of the CD brought about a national tour and a follow-up CD release in February 2008, "State To State". Partnered with DJ Peril from Melbourne, 2 of Australia's most well known DJ's in the club who both contributed greatly to their respected cities (Melbourne + Sydney) for 2 decades. Ultimately, it's Alley's wealth of experience that keeps him strong in the game. He has been a mainstay in the Sydney club scene, his longevity in the Urban scene is a testament to the hard work put in to support the industry and continues to do so from putting on his own club nights/events to constantly performing across the country.
