Alongside teaching, Elka has also worked as an artist in theatre and dance productions, designing and building sets, costumes and props, which led her into designing space optimization for businesses. In 2012, she completed her Masters of Research in Film and TV from the University of Melbourne and started teaching graphic design, animation and set design in film at SAE Creative Media Institute in Byron Bay. Elka has made three award winning short animation films, screening at over a hundred international film festivals. She has since mentored other independent production houses to produce successful animated short films.
Elka's 20 year academic teaching career prompted her to broaden her reach in early 2020 and lead online zoom classes for people across Australia during the pandemic. She offers online classes in Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects. She also offers mentoring to independent artists and services as a designer consultant for businesses wanted to upgrade their branding and design a more effective layout in their offices or production line.
Some of her happy clients are Kombucha Café in Murwillumbah and Lazer Zone in Brisbane.
