TLC For Kids Small Businesses

TLC For Kids is the leading Australian children's charity helping sick kids and their families cope with the challenges of everyday life with illness. Upon referral, we have given tailored practical and emotional support, both in and out of hospital, almost a million times each year. Whether it's a one-off hospital visit or a prolonged struggle with illness, we are part of the extended support network for sick children, aiming to reduce stress and help everyone face what's ahead. We believe that the little things make a big difference. Our Distraction Box Program offers a box of therapeutic items in medical treatment rooms, distracting and guiding the child through the procedure. Meanwhile, our Rapid TLC Service delivers timely support to help lift the spirits and ease the stress of the child and their family in whichever way we can. This can range from a surprise birthday package, to a day out for the family, to helping out with household costs to assisting with bereavement. Our latest service is the TLC Ambulance, the first program of it's kind in Australia. This helps to provide safe transport to and from a most treasured destination of a child in palliative care and their family, one more time, whilst capturing every moment. Thanks to our partnership with Ambulance Victoria, TLC for Kids has been able to provide this very special service to our most vulnerable communities and create beautiful and lasting memories for the child's family. Tim Conolan founded the charity in 1998, with his partner, Ana Darras, when he heard that children were falling through the gaps of existing services. This includes sufferers of accidents and burns; rare illnesses; abuse; family trauma; mental health issues; and long-term conditions. We believe no child should fall through the gaps of the healthcare support network. Tim has since received an Australian of the Year Local Hero Award in 2014 and has become a Member of the Order of Australia in recognition of his work at TLC for Kids.
